Terms of use

Last updated 14 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Bango when you use bango.cloud, including wedding websites on bango.cloud and the vendor tools. By using Bango you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Bango.

Bango is run by its founder, Chris, as an individual based in Nairobi, Kenya. Bango isn't a registered company yet; "Bango", "we" and "us" in these terms mean that person. When Bango becomes a company we'll update these terms and tell you.

Your account

You must be 18 or over to have an account. Give us accurate details, keep your sign-in secure, and tell us at chris@bango.cloud if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens in your account, including what people you invite to plan with you do there.

What Bango is, and isn't

Bango is a place for couples to plan their wedding and to find, book and pay wedding vendors. Vendors are independent businesses, not Bango's employees or agents. When you book a vendor, your contract for the service is with the vendor: Bango doesn't provide the photography, venue, catering or any other service, and isn't responsible for how a vendor performs it. What Bango does is verify vendors' identity, provide the agreement you both sign, and collect payments for bookings as the vendor's agent.

"ID-verified" means we checked that the person running the business is who they say they are. It isn't a guarantee of their work: read their reviews, look at their portfolio and agree the details in writing.

Bookings and agreements

A booking is made when the couple and the vendor both sign the agreement in Bango. It includes the vendor's quote, the vendor's own terms (such as cancellation and travel), and these terms. If they conflict about payments through Bango, these terms win; otherwise the vendor's terms apply between you and the vendor. If a deposit isn't paid by its due date, the booking lapses and the date is released.

Payments

  • Couples pay for bookings through Bango, by card, M-Pesa or bank transfer, processed by Paystack. Bango collects these payments as the vendor's agent: a payment made through Bango is a payment to the vendor, and Paystack pays it to the vendor's verified payout account, less Bango's commission.
  • Don't pay a vendor you found on Bango outside Bango. A payment made any other way isn't recorded against your agreement, and we can't help you with it.
  • If something goes wrong with a booking, tell us at chris@bango.cloud. We'll look at the agreement and what both sides tell us and help you and the vendor resolve it. This doesn't take away your right to take the matter further with the vendor or the courts.
  • Refunds after a cancellation follow the cancellation terms in the agreement, and are owed by the vendor.
  • Prices are in Kenyan shillings and show how much is VAT where it applies.

For vendors

  • Only list a business you own or are allowed to run, and give us true identity and payout details.
  • Bango takes a commission from each payment made through Bango. The rate is shown in your vendor dashboard before you accept a booking, and we'll give you notice before changing it.
  • Each payment a couple makes is paid to the payout account you give us and we approve, by Paystack, less Bango's commission.
  • Deliver what you agreed. You're responsible for your services, your licences, and your own taxes.
  • Don't ask couples you met on Bango to pay you outside Bango for that booking.
  • Reviews come from couples who booked you through Bango. Don't post or buy fake reviews.

Your content

You own what you upload: photos, videos, guest lists, wedding website text, portfolio work and reviews. You let us store, display and process it only to run Bango for you (for example, showing your wedding website to your guests, or a vendor's portfolio to couples). Only upload what you have the right to share, and only add guests whose details you're allowed to use. That includes music: a song on your wedding website is shared publicly, and most commercial songs need a licence for that. If a rights holder objects, we may take the song down. See our privacy policy for how we handle personal information.

Things you mustn't do

  • Break the law, or use Bango to harass, deceive or defraud anyone.
  • Upload anything you don't have the right to, or anything abusive, hateful or sexually explicit.
  • Pretend to be someone else, or another business.
  • Try to break into, overload or copy Bango, or other people's accounts or data.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms. Unless it's urgent or serious, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

Our responsibility to you

We work hard to keep Bango available and accurate, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted or have mistakes. We're responsible for losses caused by our own negligence or breaking these terms, where the loss was foreseeable. We're not responsible for a vendor's services, for losses caused by things outside our reasonable control, or for indirect losses such as lost profits. Our total responsibility to you is limited to the fees you've paid Bango in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Kenya's Consumer Protection Act or anything else the law doesn't let us limit.

Closing your account

You can stop using Bango at any time and ask us to delete your account at chris@bango.cloud. Bookings you've already signed, and payments held for them, are completed or refunded under these terms first. We may close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.

Changes, disputes and law

We may update these terms as Bango changes. We'll update the date at the top and tell you about significant changes before they apply; bookings already signed stay under the terms they were signed with. If you have a problem with Bango, email us first and we'll try to sort it out. These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya can decide any dispute.
